Teacher.
More than 20 years of my life I have been a teacher of arts. I now work in Minsk Arts College, teaching silkpainting and textile design. I enjoy working with my students, all of them are talented and many are already very good artists. The average age of my students is 16-17, but there are also some small kids. I always start by introducing the basics of Tie Dye Technique, batik, and silkpainting using gutta or working in free watercolour style. We read and study the history of textile painting in other countries: the traditions of Indonesian batik, batik in China, Africa, textile design in Russia and European countries. Next step is to work on multiple designs using all these techniques, and later work on the diploma project. Quite often my students' work is so successful, that it look like that of established masters. Little kids are extremely spontaneous, unpredictable and fearless in their work with textile. They do not yet know the burden of doubts! The themes of my students' works are quite varied - from ornament, through portrait and still life and to the serious designer projects. The variety and high professional level of works always allow us organize interesting exhibitions.  The
source of creative work is to be a clean one, so I am always glad
to share all my knowledge and skills with my students. I get in return
a lot of new energy and artistic ideas. My students give me joy and
